| Live Oak has a talent for making old decks look like new again. If your deck is beginning to age, it may be in need of repair. Potentially dangerous damage in an old deck is often in the framing and may not be readily visible. Most of the decks in our area are constructed of redwood, a valuable and diminishing resource. Regular deck inspections and minor repairs or restoration will extend the useful life of an older deck significantly. In addition to making decks look beautiful, our deck services improve safety, save money, and conserve natural resources. |

Live Oak Structural will inspect your deck and make recommendations to correct any damage discovered. The repairs often involve removing and replacing damaged decking and/or structural members with new pressure-treated members that are more resistant to rot and insect attack. A durable repair will entail eliminating any water traps that may contribute to damage in the future. |

Deck Restoration consists of power washing to remove the dirt and very thin top layer of wood that has been burned by the sun. We set the nails or screws, sand the wood, and apply a stain. We use Cabot decking stain or solid body stain (www.cabotstain.com). Decking stains come in a wide variety of colors ranging from transparent to opaque. The darker the stain, the more protection it provides from ultraviolet light and the longer the stain will last. On the other hand, the darker the stain, the more the natural texture and color of the wood will be obscured. Staining transforms a gray and drab-looking deck into a bright and fresh-looking deck.

| New Deck Design and Contruction |
 |
| Live Oak Structural will build your dream deck. A new deck can be an exciting project that adds useable space to your home. There are a lot of choices to make when designing a new deck. For example, in addition to redwood, there are various types of composite materials available for the new decking, such as Evergrain (www.evergrain.com) and other green options such as Trex (www.trex.com). Composites are longer lasting and require less maintenance. |
